Holiday Greetings

1st December 2023

As the holiday season approaches I am sure you are all looking forward to bringing in the New Year and excited to realising your plans and aspirations. I have been thinking a lot about my own dreams for the future and how I want to position myself to make the most of my time and attention in 2024 and beyond. There are a few things that really stand out for me: ensuring I dedicate enough time to maintain and improve my physical and mental health, making more time to read and reflect, and becoming a better son, brother, husband and father. Focusing on the fundamentals of my faith also join the list and so does improving the experience of all my customers and patients at work. It is deeply important to me that I continue – alongside my team – to improve the facilities that our practice delivers to the local community.

My profession is changing at a rapid pace. More and more services are moving from the hospital to primary care and we are upskilling our teams to keep up with the demand. I am incredibly optimistic of the role that optometry will play in the future of eyecare and there is a lot on the horizon to look forward to. Customers and patients are more than ever, focused on their health and I am proud that we can offer expertise alongside affordable solutions to eyecare that suits everyone. We will continue to value the role the NHS plays in our industry and as a result, ensure we offer the full spectrum of enhanced services available in the area. I think 2024 and beyond has a lot of good to deliver and I wish all of you – from the bottom of my heart – a wondeful Christmas and New Year.
